Reading and Writing in Kindergarten
We have discussed different ways we can read:
1. We can retell a story we have heard before by looking at the pictures and using our own words.
2. We can read a story by looking at the pictures and using our own words for what is happening.
3. We can read a story by reading some of the words and using the pictures to figure out the rest of the words.
4. We can read all the words.

1. Using squiggly lines
2. Using a mixture of squiggly lines and letters for the sounds we hear
3. Writing letters for the sounds we hear in words
4. Copying some words from places in the room
5. Writing letters for the sounds we hear in words and copying some words from places in the room
6. Book writing (writing like it would look in a book)
